Local Extremist Christians Harass Gay Vacationers Over Memorial Day Weekend |

Every Memorial Day weekend in Pensacola, thousands of people who pursue alternate lifestyles, i.e. gays, descend upon our fair city for 3 days of fun in the sun, pouring thousands of dollars into our local, depressed economy. And every Memorial Day weekend for the past few years, some local, radical, extremist Christians have taken it upon themselves to harass the gay vacationers from what the fundamentalists deem will be an afterlife burning in hell. |

It's bad enough that they descend on the Pensacola area during the Fiesta of Five Flags (i.e. Celebration of the Colonization of the Americas and Massacre of Indigenous Peoples), but on Wednesday, June 9, the Mayoki "Indians" krewe also brought their offensive program to a group of 33 young children at a local daycare center. |

G8 protesters march in Savannah |

Although the City of Savannah was more forthcoming with a permit than the City of Brunswick had been, the march organizers complained of barriers thrown up by all levels of government and law enforcement. Despite the barriers, about 150 people marched from Forsyth Park to the Savannah Civil Rights Museum and back for a rally in the park, a victory for civil liberties according to the organizers. |
