On February 22 at 7pm at the Tryon Branch of the West
Florida Regional Library, The Florida Palestine
Solidarity Network is proud to present two
Palestinian-made short films on the current
Palestinian elections.
"Election Furor" and "Elections Under Occupation",
produced by the Balata Film Collective, show a first
hand account of differing opinions before and after
the election of Mahmoud Abbas as President of the
Palestinian Authority.
In "Elections Furor", journalists hit the streets
during voting to see what camp residents really think.
Quotes include: "How can we can have elections before
the occupation has ended?", "Of course we have
elections, we must try to continue our daily lives,
even under occupation, " and "As they say, a drowning
person will clutch any stick."
In the film "Elections Under Occupation", Palestinians
from Balata Camp speak out about the elections for the
Palestinian Authority on January 9th, 2005.Includes
interviews with representatives of various
organisations, as well as people on the streets.
The Florida Palestine Solidarity Network invites the
public to see these two films by the Balata Film
Collective.
