Vanunu arrested |
by Rayna Moss legalese (nospam) netvision.net.il (verified) |
Current rating: 0 12 Nov 2004
|
This is from Israeli Indymedia. Mordechai Vanunu was imprisoned for over a decade for telling the world the Israel had nuclear weapons. On condition of his release he was ordered not to do interviews with the foriegn media. Defiantly he gave as many interviews as he could. I had attempted to do an interview with him for the Northwest Florida IMC before Hurricane Ivan hit but was unable to do it afterwards. Hopefully Mr Vanunu will be given his freedom back. His arrest was done as the world was focusing on Yasser Arafat's death. His arrest must be opposed. Vanunu is a man of peace and his arrest is a clear violation of Vanunu's human rights.
For more information on Mordechai Vanunu, please go to http://www.nonviolence.org/vanunu/

|
Attorney General John Ashcroft, one of the most controversial members of the Bush cabinet has resigned.
Ashcroft's critics cheered his departure. "We wish John Ashcroft good health and a good retirement. And we hope the president will choose a less polarizing attorney general as his successor," said Sen. Charles Schumer (news, bio, voting record), D-N.Y.
Anthony Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (news - web sites), said, "Mr. Ashcroft's legacy has been an open hostility to protecting civil liberties and an outright disdain for those who dare to question his policies." |

Evidence Mounts that the Vote Was Hacked |
by Thom Hartmann (No verified email address) |
Current rating: 0 08 Nov 2004

This is from Common Dreams. This article brings up a lot of interesting questions about the voting process and the very real possibility that this election was hacked and stolen. I don't know what to make of all of it, but there's a lot to be skeptical about this.

Last night, like so many people across the globe, I joined in the election night hoopla. And also, just like most of the globe, my heart sank quicker with each passing states results.
