Pennsylvania AIDS Activist Disrupt President Bush at Small, Private Battleground State Campaign Appearanc
CHALFONT, PA - September 9 - In three waves of interruptions, seven AIDS activists disrupted President Bush's campaign appearance at the small venue of Byers Choice factory in the suburbs of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The AIDS activists held signs reading: "BUSH: GLOBAL AIDS LIAR" and "$30 BILLION FOR AIDS NOW!" while chanting "Bush lies, people die, $30 billion for AIDS now."

SAN PABLO ANICANO, Mexico - A paycheck stub, a phone record, a money transfer receipt — all they needed was some piece of paper to prove their loved one existed.

Yet for families of Mexican migrants killed in the Sept. 11 attacks and seeking compensation or just a death certificate, even those small requirements have been impossible to meet, especially if the victims were in the United States illegally.

Jail Crisis for Protesters from the RNC
A State Supreme Court judge today ordered the city to release hundreds of people who had spent as many as 48 hours or more in jail and found the city in contempt of court after it failed to comply. Most of the people had been swept up in mass arrests on Tuesday, August 31, the day of nonviolent direct action to confront the Republican National Convention. Many claimed they were bystanders not connected to any protest.
